Below is a list of prayers that can be used throughout the day. Please click on the link that applies to you. Foreword The prayers in the links above were compiled to encourage each of you to establish your own daily prayer routine. Some common questions concerning prayer are answered on the next few pages. Following the questions and answers, prayers are presented in the order in which you would normally use them: on arising, before and after meals, for special instances such as travel or study, and at bedtime. Every attempt was made to have the English parallel the Serbian. The ideal place for saying morning and evening prayers is facing the icons of your patron saint, Jesus Christ and the Most Holy Mother of God. However, the pious and thoughtful manner in which you pray is more important than the place in which you pray. Mealtime and occasional prayers are said where appropriate to their purpose. These are only a small portion of Orthodox prayers written through the life of the Church. They were chosen for their applicability to our daily lives.
